Career and Education Opportunities:
This is a pre-professional, 36-hour degree, designed to prepare you to pursue an advanced degree, such as the Master of Fine Arts degree or a PhD.Graduates of Missouri State’s creative writing program go on to teach English and creative writing at the college level.Others find that a background in creative writing has prepared them for a career in K-12 education, journalism, the professional writing sector, and numerous other possibilities.
Gain Expert Experience:
Our program offers unique, professional experiences to develop your work and explore the writing life, whether you're pursuing a minor, Bachelor's degree, or Master's. Participate in student readings and Open Mic events on campus, work for our acclaimed literary journal, enter annual student writing contests and retreats, and take classes which offer small, student-centered workshops.
