Student Opportunities and Services
Supporting learning in the classroom and beyond
The faculty in the department of English understand that excellent education extends beyond the classroom. Whether you want to develop your professional skills or become more involved in the department, our faculty support a variety of research, academic and professional opportunities for you.
Student organizations
Our faculty work with and support four student organizations that provide leadership and professional development opportunities. These organizations allow you to network with fellow students and build relationships within the department.
Get involved in one of the student organizations devoted to English majors and minors:
Conferences
Whether through a class project or research opportunity, many English students submit and present papers at conferences. Even if you are not presenting at a conference, many conferences offer student rates and provide excellent opportunities to learn about current research and trends.
