Pummill Hall
The Missouri State English Department is located in Pummill Hall. Students take most English courses in this building. Pummill Hall has many resources for students, including large classrooms, all English Department faculty and staff offices, and a computer lab.
Pummill Hall was built in 1959. Originally known as the Classroom Building, the architectural style of the building is different from other buildings on campus as well as other buildings built around that time. The ramps to the side entrances of the building are unique attractions. The architects who designed the ramps did not have handicap-accessibility in mind at all; they just wanted to try something new.
This building was originally built for the Modern and Classical Languages and Mathematics Departments. The building was named after Dr. L.E. Pummill, who was the head of the Mathematics Department at that time.
