Christina Biava
Professor
Dr. Christina Biava (Ph.D., Linguistics, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 1991) has specialties in linguistics and TESOL. Recent articles explore several Italian-American writers and, especially, the Mimetic Theory of René Girard. Dr. Biava spent a 1999 Fulbright semester in Hungary. She is currently researching English teaching in Costa Rica, and she has won four campus awards for teaching, service, and research. Her hobbies include singing, playing piano, dancing, and knitting. She also enjoys studying languages and is working on remodeling a 1958 ranch house with her husband.
