Marcus Cafagña
Associate Professor
Marcus Cafagña (B.A., Michigan State University, 1986; M.A., Michigan
State University, 1989; M.F.A., Vermont College, 1998) conducts creative
research in the form of poetry writing. He has written and published one
short story, several critical reviews, author entries, and interviews. His
teaching interests include creative writing/poetry, which is his area of
specialization, and poetry as literature. Mr. Cafagña has published two
poetry books, The Broken World (University of Illinois, 1996) and Roman Fever (Invisible Cities Press, 2001).
The Broken World was
selected by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Yusef Komuyakaa for The National
Poetry Series. He has also published poems and critical reviews in many
literary journals and anthologies. He has been nominated for a Pushcart
Prize in Poetry seven times, and he was awarded a College Research Award
here at Missouri State.
