Brian Shawver
Assistant Professor
Brian Shawver received his BA from the University of Kansas and his MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and he has previously taught at Boston University and Northeastern University. Originally from the Kansas City area, he spent several years in Massachusetts before coming to Missouri State, and he is glad to be back in the middle of the country. He teaches fiction writing and he also writes novels. His first book, The Cuban Prospect, was published in 2003, and his second, Aftermath, will be published by Doubleday in February 2006.
