The
Missouri State University English Department offers a variety of degree programs
in several different areas of study. The department's faculty and staff are
dedicated to the education of students. Organizations within the department
give students the opportunity to gain experience outside the classroom in their
areas of study. The department sponsors a couple of reading series that are
free for students, faculty, and the community to attend. The department's facilities
include a computer lab with state-of-the-art software. Moon City Review
is a collection of creative works written by students and faculty in the English
Department. Copies of Moon City Review are available in the English
Department office, Siceluff Hall 215, on the Missouri State Springfield campus.
"Our department offers six undergraduate degree programs or program areas and seven graduate degree programs or program areas. All are the best in the region. Most are the best in the state. Some are acclaimed to be the best in the country." — Dr. W.D. Blackmon, Department Head
