Kimberly Goldstein is the Director of Managing Editorial at Simon & Schuster. Previously, she was the Managing Editor for Simon & Schuster, the flagship imprint, and before that, the Managing Editor for Atria Books, an imprint of S&S. Kimberly has also worked at Viking Press, which is now part of Penguin Random House. Kimberly has worked on books by Bob Woodward, Hillary Clinton, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Walter Isaacson, Alice Walker, Fredrik Backman, Lisa Jewell, and Jennifer Weiner. She has been with Simon & Schuster for fourteen years, and in book publishing for twenty years.

“From Manuscript to Finished Book: Careers in the Publishing Industry.”

There are many different career paths to take in the publishing industry. Kimberly Goldstein, the Director of Managing Editorial at Simon & Schuster, will walk through the many steps it takes to turn an unedited manuscript into a printed book. Along the way, she’ll explain the job responsibilities of an editor, production editor, interior designer, jacket designer, managing editor, and production manager. She’ll also touch on supply chain, ebook design, and the roles of a publisher. This talk will be followed by a Q&A, as well as a show and tell of some of Kimberly’s favorite books.
