Biography
Keri Franklin, a Professor of English at Missouri State University, is a scholar, researcher, educator, and former university administrator. Her career spans industry, technology, K-12 and higher education over 30 years. Professor Franklin Keri received over $6 million in state, federal, and private external funding for projects to improve writing in K-12 rural schools and to support teacher professional development. She founded the Ozarks Writing Project, a site of the National Writing Project, in 2008, and she founded the Center for Writing in College, Career & Community. She has taught undergraduate and graduate students, administering programs, gave conference papers and presentations, and participated in service at the local, state, regional, national, and international levels. Franklin has developed and facilitated faculty professional development to support faculty writing and research and assessment of student learning. She led university-wide accreditation initiatives from 2013-2023, and she has served as a Higher Learning Commission Peer Reviewer since 2013. Professor Franklin has taught in middle and high school, and in industry, as a software trainer in the heavy duty truck industry, and as a writer and special projects coordinator in the business industry.
